FBI Deputy Director, Dan Bongino shared the following update; “An update for you all on Operation Summer Heat, our violent crime takedown push across America. This continues to deliver results, highlighting our ongoing, intelligence-driven enforcement efforts. We’re seeing real impact where it matters most—in the communities we serve.
-Just this week, YOUR @FBI teams arrested 80 people and located or identified 14 victims of child exploitation. These include the arrest of an international fugitive wanted for the sexual abuse of a minor overseas who was living right here in the U.S. and a convicted sex offender in Florida who was using the internet to access child sex abuse materials.
-We also arrested an Ohio man on charges related to threatening to kill a U.S. Congressman and helped our law enforcement partners in Washington state investigate and find the suspect responsible for the shooting of a law enforcement officer on the Lummi Reservation.
These highlights are just one piece of a larger picture.
Since the kickoff of Summer Heat in late June, the FBI and our law enforcement partners seized 8200 kilograms of cocaine—that’s more than 18 thousand pounds with an estimated street value exceeding $820 million.
That’s real impact, driven by coordinated enforcement.
By the numbers-
-2,531 violent criminals have been arrested
-340 Child Victims have been located or identified
-640+ guns are now out of the hands of criminals
I’ve said it before, and I want to reiterate it again… Summer Heat reflects our focus on identifying and disrupting violent crime trends with real-time data to drive enforcement efforts. It’s about staying ahead of violent crime and stopping violence before it escalates.
We have much more to do and deliver. God bless America, and all those who defend her.”
