Born into extreme poverty — sleeping in a chair with no running water until he was six — Thomas rose to the highest court in the land and used his platform to passionately defend America’s founding principles.
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights.”
Thomas made it clear: Rights come from God, not government.
