Alysa reportedly refused offers & pressure from China to skate for them and chose to skate for the United States instead. Alysa won the Gold for her incredible performance in the short program event.

On another note, Trump criticizer and supporter of the transgender movement Amber Glenn who was favored to reach the podium fell 3 times and ended up finishing all the way in 13th place and was seen during the broadcast crying like a baby as her score was read.
